نص القطعة
(1) St. Lucia rises from the Caribbean Sea like a green fortress of nature. Dense rain- forests climb the sides of two volcanic peaks, the Pitons, while hidden waterfalls tumble into clear pools. Travelers soon learn that the island’s true wealth is found in its many natural sights. (2) Despite such dramatic scenery, fewer than two hundred thousand people call the island home, and even the capital, Castries, keeps a friendly, small-town feel. (3) Near Soufrière, visitors smell sulphurbefore they see the steam. Bubbling hot pools and mineral springs whisper that the island still contains living fire under its surface. (4) Black-sand beaches ring the coast, and warm trade winds bring rain that feeds banana plantations. Rivers cut narrow valleys, offering fertile land and postcard views. (5) Put together, these mountains, coasts, and volcanic wonders show how geography shapes almost every story told about St. Lucia.
